Data driven stories
that convert into clicks and revenue.
I should have always known I would be a commerce editor. As most of my friends will tell you, I’m the one to go to when you have a problem to solve. At the end of the day, commerce is all about solving problems for readers.
As a millennial (maybe I had a blog or three), I learned SEO early. At the time, I just wanted to make my own work pop (we didn’t use the word viral as we do now). Fast forward years later, I no longer blog, but all the SEO courses I took paid off. Once I became a full-time editor, I quickly discovered that I loved exploring data and using it to help a story reach its full potential. Most recently, I’ve earned a certification in AI Communications through NYU’s School of Professional Studies, as I feel those in publishing have a responsibility to master these tools, so their content remains serviceable and discoverable.
I love testing products and services. More importantly, I love sharing my experiences with readers so they know what’s worth trying and what’s a total dud. Mentoring writers and junior editors is a bonus and a way to pay forward the mentorship I’ve received throughout my career.
From analytics to storytelling, being a commerce editor is more to me than a job. It’s become the way I help others, one product recommendation at a time.
From analytics to storytelling, being a commerce editor is more to me than a job. It’s become the way I help others, one product recommendation at a time. It's more than listicles and quick-hit sale announcements — it's an art form that I'm intensely passionate about.
